  14.     NOTE: If you are upgrading from a previous version, it is very 
  15.     important to replace the help file (LHPMDB.HLP) along with the program 
  16.     (LHPMDB.EXE). This new version also needs the demo script file 
  17.     (LHPMDEMO.SCR) to use the self-running demo feature.

  19.     New Features and Fixes

  22.     *** Version 1.3e ***

  24.     For upgrades to new versions, the user, both registered and 
  25.     non-registered, is requested to obtain the latest version by 
  26.     downloading from the Compuserve Gardening Forum or sending a disk with 
  27.     self-addressed, postage paid return mailer.
  28.     
  29.     This version contains a self-running demo. To run the demo, the demo 
  30.     script file, LHPMDEMO.SCR must be in the same directory as LHPMDB.EXE. 
  31.     The script can be edited and enhanced. See the file, LHPMDEMO.DOC for 
  32.     instructions. This is a trial feature and may not be available in later 
  33.     versions.
  34.     
  35.     An optional datafile name parameter can be included when starting the 
  36.     application. As an example: LHPMDB lhpmdeml<ENTER> will open the 
  37.     datafile during startup of the LHPMDB application.
  38.     
  39.     The AANCODE field has been renamed to "ID Code". The AAN code is no 
  40.     longer automatically generated after entering the plant (scientific) 
  41.     name. This will allow for entry of company specific ID or inventory 
  42.     codes. As an option, AAN Codes can be automatically generated by 
  43.     turning on the SCROLL LOCK on the keyboard. This change does not have 
  44.     an impact on existing data files.
  45.     
  46.     The Record Add function is now repeating. After adding a record, a 
  47.     dialog will appear asking if another record is to be added. Pressing 
  48.     ENTER will repeat the Add Record dialog, ESCape will cancel the 
  49.     function.

  51.     The Load List and Save List menu items have been moved to the Edit 
  52.     menu.
  53.     
  54.     When opening a datafile, if the file is non-existant, the option is 
  55.     given to create a new file with the New File dialog.
  56.     
  57.     The DOS Shell function is disabled when a file is open.
  58.     
  59.     More internal programmer related enhancements.

  61.     *** Version 1.2 ***
  62.     
  63.     Any unique values entered by the user into the record fields with 
  64.     attached pop-up lists now will be saved for later use. A support file 
  65.     (.HST extension) will contain any newly entered values along with the 
  66.     default pop-up list values. If the support file is erased, a new file 
  67.     will be created containing the original default values stored in the 
  68.     program.

  70.     Along with unique value entry, an "Update Field Lists" menu item is 
  71.     available on the Utility menu. This function will scan an open file for 
  72.     any previously added unique values and add them to the appropriate 
  73.     pop-up lists. This can also be used to update the lists after importing 
  74.     a data file from another application.
  75.     
  76.     In the Add Record and Modify Record dialogs, the Notes field is now a 
  77.     scrollable multi-line edit field. Press the Help key while the field is 
  78.     highlighted for additional key commands.

  80.     The help system has been enhanced with additional hints and help text.
  81.     
  82.     Removed some minor bugs and performed internal programmer related 
  83.     enhancements.

  87.     After closing the About dialog box at startup, the Open File dialog 
  88.     will appear, offering the option to open a file immediately. CANCEL or 
  89.     ESCape will close the dialog to use other commands.
  90.     
  91.     Under the Edit menu is a "Show All Plants" command. Selecting this 
  92.     command will cause the program to scan the complete data file and load 
  93.     in all plant names. (Any duplicates will be ignored.) This is intended 
  94.     as a "browse" feature.
  95.     
  96.     The Plant Name List now contains an information panel at the bottom of 
  97.     the list. It gives information on the number of plants in the list 
  98.     window; the total number of plants in the data file; the data file name 
  99.     and the data file path.
  100.     
  101.     The Modify command has been enhanced for easier adding of cultivars or 
  102.     other plants with similar characteristics. Changing the plant name of 
  103.     an existing record during Modify will result in a dialog asking to 
  104.     replace the existing record or add the modified record as a new record.
  105.     
  106.     The Print command now has a control dialog that will allow the user to 
  107.     Pause or Cancel during printing.
  108.     
  109.     The Add command and Modify command now check for duplicate plant names 
  110.     just before adding or replacing a record. Note: The Import command does 
  111.     not check for duplicates. Use care with Import. See the on-line user 
  112.     manual on how to remove duplicates if any slip into the data file.
  113.     
  114.     Minor additions to the help file keyed to new features. Minor bug fixes 
  115.     in Import for trying to trap foreign files with a bad format without 
  116.     crashing.
  117.
